iPod touch is smaller. iPad is bigger. Currently that is the only difference, other than internal things like processor speed, etc.
Well the iPad is way faster and bigger, it will also have special apps just for it soon, but other than that its the same thing.
An iPad is a larger version of the iPod, and it functions like a tablet pc. It cant handle several applications at once, which is a big setback, and it doesn have much of a difference between an iPod other than it has a larger capacity for storage or processing speed.
iPad can have 3G capabilities , therefore .you could use it without wifi.
